SunTwist Beauty Box Review

I recently spoke with the owner of SunTwist. I haven’t seen many reviews on any of their boxes, but I’d heard rumors that their baby box wasn’t very good compared to others. Being that they are a new company, I wanted to try them out for myself rather than go by rumors alone.

SunTwist is a monthly subscription box service. On their website, they have a few subscription options to choose from. You can choose from their “Beauty Box”, “Yankee Candle Addiction” box, or their “Jewelry” box. There are 1 month, 3 month, and 6 month sign up options.

SunTwist has removed their option for their “Baby Box” from their website, so I assume that is now discontinued.

I elected to review their SunTwist “Beauty Box”! The SunTwist “Beauty Box” is $20 per month. There are no discounts with longer signups, but with a 3 month or 6 month subscription they are offering to include a free gift set with purchase.

Here is a description of their “Beauty Box” right from their website:

Glam yourself up with our SunTwist Beauty Box. Each box contains 5-8 beauty and spa products.

That said, let’s see what I got!

The SunTwist Beauty Box came in a plain brown box.

There wasn’t anything special about the packaging. The products were just inside the plain brown box. There really isn’t much to say other than that.

There was no insert or instruction card, so I had to figure out what the products are and how much they cost on my own. Luckily, I’ve seen them all before and they had the ingredients listed on them clearly.

Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal Moisturizing Lip Balm in Beam of Blush

This lip balm is FANTASTIC! It promises 8-hour moisture, and contains shea butter and Vitamin E! It also lets off a bit of shimmer and smells like bubble gum (if you’re into that).. I own two of these that don’t have shimmer,  so I was really happy to see this!

Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes (travel sized)

These ultra soft cloths gently dissolve all traces of make-up. Apparently, even waterproof mascara,  according to the package. I haven’t tried them yet,  because I have so many from other brands, but I will eventually make my way to these.

Body Benefits Pumice Stone

These are great for smoothing and softening rough skin. I already owned one, and it really is a great product!

Flower Nail’d It Nail Lacquer in That-s Just Dan-De-Lion

Ultra-shiny, high-gloss formula that provides long-lasting, chip-free manicures. It is also 3-free, so it’s free of DBP, toluene and camphor.

iGo Jasmine Scented Nail Polish Remover Pads

These polish removing pads are acetone free,  portable and convenient.

Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Hand + Body Lotion 2 oz

This lotion is described as being rich and non-greasy, blending cocoa butter and pure lanolin to quench and relieve moisture-starved skin. Since I am CRAZY ALLERGIC to lanolin, I will NOT be trying this. In fact, I’m afraid to even touch it.

Pond’s Crema S Nourishing Moisture Cream 1.75 oz

This hypoallergenic cream moisturizes and nourishes for up to 24 hours with a blend of natural botanical extracts and nutrients. It promises softer, healthy-looking skin. I personally LOVE Pond’s, so I was happy to see this.

April Bath and Shower Anti-Bacterial Hand Lotion 3-pack

These lotions are used to decrease bacteria on the skin.

April Bath and Shower Apple Pomegranate Body Wash, Body Lotion, and Moisturizing Shampoo

Another Dollar Tree item. I’m not fond of these kinds of things, so I won’t be using this for fear of allergies.

Retails for $1 at Dollar Tree

Freeman Beauty Facial Peel-Off Clarifying Cucumber Mask 0.5 oz

I own a larger tube of this and LOVE it! This really is a great peel-off mask.

Retails for $1.37 at Wal-Mart

Freeman Beauty Blue Agave Hydrating Facial Paper Mask 15g

This paper mask is supposed to hydrate dry, thirsty skin. I’m not a huge fan of paper masks, but I do love Freeman Beauty, so I MIGHT give this one a try.

Retails for $1.99 at Wal-Mart

The final retail value of the SunTwist Beauty Box comes to $22.25! It was close, but for $20 you actually come out ahead. I can NOT deny that most (possibly all?) of these products were purchased at Wal-Mart and Dollar Tree, and you could probably just head down to your local store to get them yourself.

I, personally, would not purchase this box for myself, but the value is definitely there… surprisingly enough!
