August Birchbox Review!

I am always super excited to receive my Birchbox every month! Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that focuses on beauty, skincare and lifestyle items.. For $10 a month, you will receive 5 or more items delivered right to your doorstep! When you sign up, you can fill out your beauty profile, so your box is filled with items specific to your likes.. You can change your profile at anytime, so you always get products you would be interested in..

They have a really sweet rewards system, too.. You can gain “Birchbox points” in quite a few ways, and the points stack up really fast.. You get 10 Birchbox points per item you review from your monthly box, 50 points for referring a friend, and 1 point per dollar spent in their online shop.. Once you reach 100 points, you can redeem them in their online shop for full sized items.. 100 Birchbox points equals $10 to shop!

Birchbox has a different theme each month.. This month’s theme was “Lighten Up”! Let’s take a look and see what was inside…

Each Birchbox comes with this handy little card that tells you all about everything that came in your box that month! It gives you information on what each item is for, how to use them, and how much full sizes retail for..

Now for the good stuff.. Let’s see what I got!!!

Laura Geller Beauty Cool Lids Cream Eyeshadow in Silver Sands!

This is a sea-inspired cream eyeshadow that is supposed to deliver a rich wash of color with a shimmery, wet look.. Birchbox has recently introduced a sample choice for one item in each box.. I chose this item as my August sample choice, and I couldn’t be more pleased.. It really did do what it says, and it stayed on all day until I washed it off.. The best part is that you can apply it with your fingertips.. No brush required!

Full size retails for $19

Harvey Prince Ageless Body Cream

This lotion is supposed to leave your skin silky-smooth with a grapefruit-sandalwood fragrance.. I really love the scent, but it wasn’t as hydrating as I would have hoped.. I would say its nice to use in place of a perfume, but not for your primary lotioning needs.. I do adore that Harvey Prince is a cruelty-free brand, though! Guilt-free beauty is ALWAYS a plus..

Full size retails for $22

Neil George Shampoo and Conditioner

This shampoo/conditioner duo was created by Beverly Hills stylists.. According to the card, the antioxidant-rich shampoo promotes shinier locks, and the paraben-free conditioner hydrates and detangles while smoothing strands.. Personally, I didn’t get any of that.. I had to use ALOT of product to get any kind of hydration, and was left with an unremarkable end result.. I will be sticking with my normal shampoo/conditioner and passed this along to the BFF to try..

Full sizes retail for $9 each

nugg Beauty Revitalizing Face Mask

This is a 95% natural treatment that hydrates and replenishes dull, tired skin with a bevy of oils.. You apply this face mask after cleansing and drying your face, and leave on for 5-10 minutes.. Super easy! This was what Birchbox calls a “Beauty Extra”.. Who doesn’t like a little something extra in their box 😉

A pack of 5 retails for $14.99

I really love their new sample choice option, and always enjoy my monthly Birchbox.. Although, this wasn’t my absolute FAVORITE month, their point system and outstanding customer service always makes up for everything..
